The Orange Salad
Maybe one of the most famous dishes in Sicily and in South Italy. The orange salad is one of the recipes more used here, and of course, anyone has some secrets to defend. There are different versions, who add fennel, who add anchovies, who add olives, who says without salt tuna is not a real orange salad etc..
Anyway, can be named one of the most known dishes that represent Mediterranean Diet. Simple, fresh and easy. All of this you can do here when elements are the base. The most important things for good sicilian recipes are the ingredients.
- 4 Oranges
- 2 Spring Onions
- Extra virgin Olive Oil
- 1 Fennel
- Dried Chilly
Start to peel oranges, then cut them into little pieces making little cubes, this is good to maintain right texture. After that cut spring onions and fennel and add to the oranges in the same bowl. Yes, now is time for Extra virgin olive oil, salt and a little spoon of dried chilly. Add them in the same bowl. Now it’s ready one of the thousands different version of the orange salad.
